Many years ago, God gave a vision to a local homeschooling family. The vision was to fill a need for homeschooled students. These students needed a venue in which to gain the skills learned by being a science fair exhibitor. From this vision the science fair began in 1997.
The Texas Regional Science Fair continues to be a positive and encouraging experience for the exhibitors. The goal is for students to come away with a love of learning and science. This science fair is unique!
- There are 4 types of projects - Collection, Model, Demonstration, and Experiment. The first three do not require an experiment to be associated with them.
- Dads do the judging. Malachi 4:6 is why. Check it out. God is faithful in fulfilling His Word. Some judges have been with the fair since it's inception!
- Students are recognized in as many ways as possible for their effort. They receive a participant ribbon, certificate, gift packet, and then they earn a placement ribbon and have the opportunity to earn specialty ribbons, which include in each grade division Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, Most Original, Best Display, and Best Interview.
