The Woodlands Satellite Classes & Camps

The A. D. Players, founded in 1967 by Jeannette Clift George, pioneered a unique style of theater committed to producing plays and programs that uphold human value, offer creativity, and promote literacy and education. From a small group of part-time actors, the company has increased in size to one of Houston's largest resident theaters, impacting more than nine million people.

The A.D. Players Theatre Arts Academy offers quality drama instruction at their Saint Street Annex off Westhiemer near downtown. Most students in The Woodlands area, however, are unable to attend classes so far away. Sensing the need for faith-based drama instruction, The Woodlands Community Church began a partnership with the A.D. Players in 2005. A.D. Players teachers began traveling to our location in The Woodlands to provide the same excellence in theatre instruction for students in our area, thus establishing the A.D. Players Theatre Arts Academy Satellite in The Woodlands.

With this instruction, our Woodlands area students have learned and grown over the past several years. We have now had students from our classes appear in professional productions at both the A.D. Players Children's Theatre and the Grace Theatre main stage. Our students have also gone on to perform and star in other local theatre productions and also to compete in dramatic events.

Our students have qualified for the PSIA State Competition and placed high in speaking and performance events such as Poetry/Prose Interpretation, Impromptu Speaking and Oratory for the past several years. Extraordinary Education/AD Players drama students also placed 1st in Duet Acting at the 2008 Texas Renaissance Festival School Days theater arts competition. And most recently, our One Act Play won 2nd in their district at the spring 2009 competition and 3rd at district in 2010.

For families who think outside the box!
